ID Theft

    Because there are many people without jobs or want a better life and will do anything to get it.

    At least their credit or debit card number, name, and social security.
    4. What are some ideas that you would suggest to someone to protect their identity from being stolen.
    Try and keep your personal information safe and do not let your friends use them, and try to pay cash as often as you can.
    5. Who do you think is to blame, the person stealing the identity, or the person who is not protecting themselves from identity theft?
    I think both people should be blamed, the person stealing for stealing and the victim for not protecting themselves enough.

    Because people are losing their jobs and money is tight these days.

    All they need is name, credit card, and social security numbers.

    Try to pay in cash in restaurants.
    Don’t tell anyone your information.
    5. Who do you think is to blame, the person stealing the identity, or the person who is not protecting themselves from identity theft?
    Both because the person who stole the identity should not steal someone’s ID
    And The women because she didn’t protect herself in the first place.

    2. Why do you feel ID Theft is such a common problem these days?I think It's such a problem these days, becuase we don't have a sure way to stop it from getting worse.

    4. What are some ideas that you would suggest to someone to protect their identity from being stolen? Monitor Reports, contact the police, cancel credit or debit cards when notified it has been compromised, and dont give personal information away.
    5. Who do you think is to blame, the person stealing the identity, or the person who is not protecting themselves from identity theft? The person stealing the identity because they purposely stole the victims personal information for their own use and caused trouble for the victim.

    The girl gave out her first three digits to her social security number when the impostor asked. She didn't clarify who was asking.

    I think ID Theft is a common problem these days because of laziness and the economy. If people had money then you wouldn't need to steal any of it.

    To steal someone's identity you would need their Social Security Code.

    4. What are some ideas that you would suggest to someone to protect their identity from being stolen.
    To protect your identity from being stolen you should shred important documents, don't give out your passwords to anything to anyone, and don't give out any personal information.

    I think that it is both of there faults. If the person wasn't protecting themselves then they where pretty much asking for their identity to be stolen.

    2. It is not that hard to get away with because all you need is there personal information to steal their identity.
    3. Credit Card, Driver’s License, and Social Security Number.
    4. Don’t share any information with people and make sure it is secure to give it to someone.
    5. The person who isn’t protecting their identity good enough and The person stealing the identity in the first place.

    4. What are some ideas that you would suggest to someone to protect their identity from being stolen. Monitor credit reports regularly, don’t carry too many credit cards, debit cards or other information with personal information in my wallet. Don't use the debit card so much; Use a marker to write a note on the back of your card asking that the merchant request an identification card. And think about asking your bank for a new card number every couple of years.
    5. Who do you think is to blame, the person stealing the identity, or the person who is not protecting themselves from identity theft? I think the person sealing the identity is to blame because they can find another way to get what they want they don’t need to go ruin someone else’s life.

    4. Get 90 day alerts and freeze your account.
    5. The person stealing because, the person not protecting themselves may not know how and it is illegal to steal people's identity.

    I think it is a problem because people aren't being careful about their card numbers.

    Cut up bills after being paied. Dont gave out information over the phone only in person.

    I think it is the person who is stealing the person identity because its not right to take someone money and use it without them knowing.

    She tried to never use her credit card, so she used her debit card for everything big or small. She akso gave out her social security number to a random person.

    I think people don’t keep their information very personal so it is easy for someone to steal their information and become them.

    You have to have their social security number, and credit card numbers and any other personal information would be helpful.

    To protect your identity from being stolen you must protect all of your passwords and personal information, and check all credit reports on a regular occasion to make sure nobody has your information.

    I think both people are to blame, because first of all you need to protect your personal information or it is partially your fault for having it stolen, but is a crime to steal someone’s identity and nobody should ever do that to another person.

    2. It is such a common problem because almost everyone uses a credit card or debit card. Rarely do people pay cash anymore.

    5. I think the person stealing the identity is to blame because they are the ones committing the crime. Also it is none of their business to take someone else's personal identity.

    Because many people arent careful about who they should trust.

    I would suggest that you always make sure that you trust the person or company that is asking for your personal information numbers. Also shred any papers or bills after they are paid, then throw them out.

    I think that its the person who is stealing the innocent persons identitys fault. There is no reason to steal someone elses money or image that they have worked hard for.

    - She did was not conscious of where and how she used her debit card and the information on the card was stolen and used by the perpetrator.
    2. Why do you feel ID Theft is such a common problem these days?
    - It is such a common problem because it is such an easy crime to commit and it is hard to detect until its too late and can continue for a long time if the victim does not know what to do. it is also a crime of cowards who hide behind someone else’s identity and mooch off of their money instead of working on their own and making their own living.

    - A credit card bill, a loan application, a credit card, a debit card, etc.
    4. What are some ideas that you would suggest to someone to protect their identity from being stolen.
    - Be careful with who you let handle your cards and other documents that contain bank account numbers or social security numbers, when using an ATM make sure that it hasn't been tampered with. Shred your important documents like tax forms, credit card bills, bank letters, etc.
    5. Who do you think is to blame, the person stealing the identity, or the person who is not protecting themselves from identity theft?
    - I think the person stealing the identity is the one to blame because if they were a normal trustworthy being then they would not steal the information in the first place. But sadly there is not that many people out there like that so identity theft occurs very often.
